The Nordic Fair Isle Slouch Hat Ravelry KAL is officially over, but what fun we had!  Tanis Gray, renowned designer and knitting instructor, led participants in our Ravelry group in making this beautiful fair isle hat. You can see all the wonderful projects here. Along the way, she taught and guided us as we learned new techniques on everything from corrugated ribbing, working colorwork, shaping and blocking.

At String Yarns, we suspect (in fact, we know from Ravelry pattern sales and in-store yarn sales) that there may be a lot more of these hats popping up in the future. Some of you may have just been listening in, but please…we want to hear you and see your work in our KAL thread (which remains open) and in our future KALs (keep reading).

What a wonderful KAL. I’ve only particaped in a couple -this was the Best! Instructions, what to work on week to week, instructional videos and answered questions. Oh yeah the hat, pattern=amazing. Yarn=amazing. Guidance =amazing. Beautiful hat, I will make again! – beknitter50 on Ravelry

If you missed this KAL, you can still get the pattern here and the yarn here.  And Tanis will begin our next KAL with a new project and new yarn in March.  It’s a surprise for now, but stay tuned. She’ll be teaching new techniques as we create another spectacular project. Next week, we’ll be releasing pictures and information on our March KAL. Watch our blog and our String Yarn Ravelry group for details.
