String Yarns Ravelry News
Lots of new things have been happening at String this past year, but one of the most exciting for me has been what we’re doing on Ravelry. As the Ravelry coordinator, some of you have already PMed me to ask questions, make comments and just say hi, but we want you to know the ways we’ve been hard at work to make our String Yarns community part of the Ravelry community:
- THE NEWS
We love our customers, both in-store and online, but we know that it’s not always possible to “drop in” to the store (although we do hope you will)! We’re working to make sure that the String Yarns group on Ravelry keeps you up-to-date on the latest String Yarns happenings. If you haven’t joined us in our Ravelry group, you should. Here you can find out all the news ~ our monthly exclusives (1) our weekly specials (2) and our in-store events (3) Over the past 4 months, our String Yarns group has grown by over 70% and we’d love it if you joined us too.
String has partnered with Tanis Gray, amazing knitwear designer, teacher and author, to design and host a series of 6 KALs throughout the year. These fun, informative KALs bring together our in-store and online customers in a virtual community knit-a-long. Participants will not only share their knowledge and experience while creating these beautiful projects, Tanis will teach something new with every KAL and participants will also receive a discount on our exclusive cashmere yarns. Our next KAL begins January 12th. We hope you’ll join us.
We’ve heard you loud and clear, and in early 2016 we’ll be releasing some of our most popular patterns on Ravelry with more to follow throughout the year. Up until now, our String patterns, like the Wrap It Up Ruana (shown below) have been exclusive to our customers. Now you’ll be able to buy String patterns directly through Ravelry. Just follow along in the group for announcements.
We’d love for you to join in the discussion by becoming a member of our String Yarns group. You can start a discussion or join one, join a KAL, post and link your finished projects, stash and tell us about yarn you’ve purchased from us, check out our in-store events, purchase patterns (soon) or share your experience when you’ve visited the store. We’ve also started to contact some Ravelers who’ve made some beautiful projects with our yarns and/or our patterns to be featured in our blog.
If you need to get in touch, you can PM me on Ravelry at joanforgione. I’d love to hear from you. Share your thoughts on how we’re doing and how we can improve the String-Ravelry experience for you!
Best wishes for a wonderful new year,
