A few weeks back, we wrote about making some of our extensive collection of exclusive String Yarns’ patterns available on Ravelry for the first time. These patterns have a history that goes back to the beginning of our shop.

Ralph Lauren -- F/W 2015 show

Before the Internet, String Yarns designed patterns that our customers craved. Arguably, New York is the fashion capital of the world, and being in the heart of the city, we have consistently held a solid reputation for knitting patterns that were on the cutting edge of current trends and seen on the runways. Our customers knew what they liked, and we designed for them. Our patterns were available only with the purchase of yarn from our shop.

This tradition continues at String Yarns, but with a slight, yet exciting change…

With Ravelry and online shopping, our store is not just local anymore. We have customers as near as “up the block” and as far as Australia. We’ve heard from Ravelers worldwide that they would like to have our patterns, too. Of course, we still hope you’ll purchase our beautiful exclusive yarns in-store or on our website because our patterns are designed to be knit with them and because we know how truly extraordinary they are, but we believe the time has come to offer our patterns on Ravelry to everyone.

Our first collection of 7 patterns are now available on Ravelry. We’re calling the collection String Yarns Folio 1 ~ Winter ’16.  Each pattern will be available for only $6. The first collection includes Wrap It Up Ruana, Twist Cable Hat, Ruched Ruffles (scarf), Ribbed Cocoon (shrug), Prada Headband, Heirloom Blanket, and Celtic Hood. We plan to release more of our patterns throughout the year.

If you’re an in-store or online customer, don’t worry! As always, you’ll continue to receive your String Yarns’ patterns with the purchase of yarn.

We’re celebrating our Ravelry launch in two special ways:

  • At Vogue Knitting Live in NYC this weekend January 15 – 17, stop by String Yarns’ (booths 1001 – 1009) and sign up for our Ravelry group. We are gifting the Prada Headband pattern to everyone who joins our group, and one lucky new member each day will win the complete Folio 1 collection of patterns. If you can’t make it to NYC for VKLive, but still would like the Prada Headband, post in this thread after joining our group, and we’ll drop it into your Ravelry library.
  • Until midnight on January 17th, when you purchase any 4 patterns in the Folio 1 collection on Ravelry, you’ll receive one FREE. Simply put the pattern in your Ravelry shopping cart at one time and the price is automatically adjusted at checkout.

Hope to see you at VKLive in NY and on Ravelry!
