Certain yarns hit your eye before you even get the chance to feel them, such is the case with any fiber created by Knit Collage. All of the Knit Collage dyes, carding and spinning take place in Punjab, India. When the business first started in 2010, they spent countless hours teaching women how to craft the yarn designs on traditional spinning wheels.

Knit Collage now happily employs a total 15 women who they rely on for all aspects of the business. Not all of those women are spinners. They also employ ladies who solely card fiber, crochet tiny flowers, embroider sparkly paisleys, organize trims or check each skein for quality. Truly each yarn is specially handcrafted with love and care.

The “Ladder Stitch Cowl” designed by Danielle Shields knit with Gypsy Garden yarn allows the beautiful texture, and the hand-spun details of the yarn to blossom within the stitches. The dropped stitches make for a lightweight, yet warm and super cozy cowl.

You’ll fall in love with the texture, the color, and the warmth, making the Ladder Stitch Cowl your “go to” piece throughout the winter season. You can whip up this “super easy and quick" knit cowl incredibly fast, and its so much fun when the tiny silk rose buds and/or flowers pop up as you knit. We promise it will brighten up dismal winter days. The “Ladder Stitch Cowl” is truly ageless, so everyone on your holiday list can enjoy one!

Created exclusively for String Yarns. Pattern gifted with the purchase of yarn.
